Steel plate bearing units have a high rotation speed and high elasticity. These bearing units have a lower mass than those in cast iron, successfully combining their lightweight properties with excellent mechanical resistance. In some cases, these bearing units are subjected to high loads and may present some deformations. These deformations may vary depending on the direction and weight of the load itself. Furthermore, the shape of the bearing unit and the thickness of the sheets may also influence the extent of the deformations. The allowable load should therefore be such that the resulting deformation does not compromise the functionality of the bearing unit itself. The allowed load is approximately 1/3 of the base load value in a radial direction and 1/3 of the radial load allowed in an axial direction.
